What are the objects we are aware of? and how do we discern them?
The endless objects can be classified into six groupings
1]Sights
2]Sounds
3]Smell
4]Taste
5]Sensation
6]Thoughts and feelings
The first five can be located on a space matrix, and exhibit certain quality and properties.
For item 6,we cannot pin down where thought and feeling are located, but we generally feel it within our body. All objects are Dependent on awareness or we will have no knowledge of it.
If the data bases that flash before us are known to us, then Awareness are the context or a field upon which objects appear. We are aware of objects coming within the body and also outside, thus awareness have no boundary and Space like .
Awareness is always present whether objects appear or not.
Awareness is the One subject 'awaring' of the objects that appear and disappear.
As seeing cannot see seeing and hearing cannot hear hearing, Awareness cannot be aware of itself.
As with the case with hearing, we can know its presence by sound heard and the silence of no sound. So too we can Intuit awareness is present even when no objects appear.
So Truth being also called awareness is Omnipresence, Omniscience[the Only knowing Subject],Eternal and is Independent on its own. As naming is arbitrary others names commonly used are God, Witness, Tao, etc.
Awareness being a field have no location. Like the apparent center of gravity[CG} of an object located within the field of gravity, there arise also the phenomenon of apparent center of awareness in the sense organs Located within the field of awareness. Like the weight in an object which is apparent and induce by the gravitational field will totally disappear when the field is switched off or the objects moved outside its range as in outer space.
As awareness is the function of the field, all object within it have no awareness and only an apparent center in sentient being giving the impression of individuality. This is parallel to various objects each having an apparent individual weight from other objects within the same field.
As CG can be located out of the body for certain body shape, so also the centre of awareness[CA] can be located outside the body which gave us the often mentioned out of body experience.
The objects which made up ego are the five skandhas which can have only APPARENT awareness. It is wrong to ASSUME human have awareness[one for each human, like the concept of weight]when all appear within the ONE and Only field of awareness.
What differ from Awareness field and other field such as gravity, heat, magnetic, etc. is that it is not dependent on any source for its generation. The truth of awareness[a field]is self present without the need of a source[unborn] and it self is the CONDITION for all object to appear. No Awareness, no appearance of any object is possible, including space and time.

ReplyDeleteI would like to comment on this statement “Awareness has no boundary”. When we say “the field of Awareness has no boundary”, it means that the “field” stretches to INFINITY in all directions. Firstly let us try to grasp the implications of INFINITY and see how it defies our common sense and layman logic:
1. If we were to identify the location of an object, whether its location is on the top of Mt Everest, or down in Antarctica, or spinning with the ring around Saturn planet, or at the centre of the Milky Way Galaxy, that object is ALWAYS at the CENTRE of the field of AWARENESS. From the location of this object, wherever its physical location may be, the field of AWARENESS stretches to INFINITY in all directions, and this object is therefore at the CENTRE of the field of AWARENESS.
2. The corollary to (1) above is that EVERY OBJECT within the field of AWARENESS is the CENTRE of the field of AWARENESS. As an exercise, ponder on this and see whether you can “experience” any connection to OMNIPRESENCE mentioned in the article.
The Geocentric model of the universe first conceived by ancient Greek scholars held that the Earth is the CENTRE of the universe. This Geocentric model was adopted as a religious dogma by the Catholic Church. Copernicus, out of fear of being persecuted, suppressed his scientific findings which proved that the Sun is in fact the centre (of our solar system). Subsequently the Church admitted that the Geocentric model is erroneous.
With our current state of understanding of the field of AWARENESS, the Catholic Church’s Geocentric model stating that the EARTH is the CENTRE of the universe is in fact CORRECT if we were to replace the term “universe” by “ The Infinite Field of Awareness”: the EARTH is at the CENTRE of the field of AWARENESS following the above Implications (1) and (2). By defining “universe” to be our solar system, the Earth of course is not the CENTRE, thereby debunking the Church’s Geocentric model.
Let us take a closer look at how “Infinity” distorts our common sense by using arithmetical examples.
Let: S=1+2+3+4+5+6+7………..to infinity. Equation 1
Equation 1 x 2, we get 2S=2+4+6+8+10+12+14……to infinity Equation 2
Now, the Question is: which is larger, S or 2S?
a. If we take “Infinity” out of the equation, common sense says 2S is greater than S.
b. When the series of both S and 2S stretches to infinity, then S is greater than 2S. Why? If we look closely at S, we will notice that S contains ALL integers (both odd and even) from 1 to INFINITY. When we look at 2S, this series contains only EVEN integers up to infinity. Since S contains BOTH odd and even integers, therefore S has to be larger than 2S. Mathematically speaking, 2S is in fact a subset of S.
c. Basic mathematical principles states that ANYTHING (except 0) multiply by INFINITY equals INFINITY. Therefore S is equal to 2S.
This brings us back to the Infinite Field of AWARNESS. A good mental grasp and an intuitive understanding of what “Infinity” is will definitely bring us one step closer to the TRUTH by recognizing, understanding and experiencing AWARENESS as IT IS.
Not only is the field infinite,it is also homogenous throghout as VOID[as the Noumenon]and uniform with its property of awareness.Like CG of objects within the gravitational field,so too there will be CA which are apparent individual centres[many] all arising from a single field.Awareness manifest at the Organ of perception[CA],but does not follow it as the field is unmoving and any point within it can serve as a CA if the organs of perception manifest in that location.
