There are many Gurus for Non-duality or Advaita as originated in India. The facts is that ALL religion speaks of this Truth that will end all suffering. The Truth is there is ONLY Awareness [Absolute]
Most people missed the simplicity, when they cannot reconcile the UNknowable Awareness with the known contents of Awareness [which make up the world]. The Subject IS Awareness and the world its objects. There is a fundamental duality of subject/object. At this point many are confused. As indicated in previous posting 'I AM' is the Awareness in which all objects of Awareness come and go. Lord Jesus say ' I AM in the world [Omnipresent Awareness],but not of the world [Objects in awareness]'
The Buddhist Diamond sutra gave us the hint, when it mentioned that all objects are False [illusionary] and therefore have no Objective Reality. That will leave us with the vast empty Awareness as the sole reality.
In the analogy with the mirror, Awareness is the mirror and the world is its myriad reflections. There is only the mirror and its reflections[illusion], the essense of which is the reflectivity of the mirror .
In buddhism this essnce of reality is called buddha nature or Bodhi.
In the Hindu tradition, this is summarised as:
The world is Maya [Illusionary]
Brahman is REAL
Brahman is the World [reconciling the APPARENT duality ]
In the Qu'ran the ONEness as Absolute is given in the teaching of Tawhid.
Another helpul analogy will be the Ocean [Awareness] and the waves on its surface [ forms similar to the objective world] The waves are the Expression of the ocean and the essense of both is water.
With this wisdom, one no longer live in seperation. Human beings,the mountains and river are but different sizes of waves all having water as the essense and arises momentary from the ocean and return to the ocean. { All comes from Allah and return to Allah }
So objects appear from awareness [emptiness] and return into Awareness in nano seconds creating a holographic world with empty space as The screen.
With this Wisdom, our friends and enemies are made up of the same essence as our very own body..Though we APPEAR separate, we belong to the expression of the one WHOLE inseperable awareness. If we take the human body as Oneness,then the limbs and fingers that extends out of the one body,though appear different are parts of the whole. Can the finger on one hand hate or love the finger on the other hand? Love and hate are relationships and it needs more than one to Tango.
In samsara, the individual wave, think one is seperated from other waves IGNOring the Ocean that connects all. The so call waves of one pattern dislike waves of another pattern and consider them hostile and develop hate.
This hostility can only be overcome with wisdom and all disputes be it social, religious, racial or political can then be seen as a gentle game of Solitaire. There is ONLY SELF concern just as one take care of one's body.
The surface roughness of the Ocean does not disturb the peaceful depth of the Ocean [Awareness]. This is Nirvana [Patient Abiding in the uncreated.]
From the POV of the dreamer [Awareness], nothing happens. But from the point of view of the dream characters, dramas of joy, peace, war, hatred and tragedy continue to unfold [In what we consider waking life]
The Dreamer on awakening recall the dream, but fully aware that nothing happen. The dreamer and the Dream is one as the dance and the dancer is one.
The dream is samsara and awakening is Nirvana. The dreamer as Awareness is ever present and is the witness when the dream unfold. When the dream is over, IT recall the dream as IT was PRESENT during the dream as the Witness. Even when all that is in the dream vanished into thin air, Awareness goes no where. Jesus say, I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end [of the worldly dream] The ocean remain even when its surface become calm and waveless.
Awakening can be Instant, but liberation require time to allow wisdom to replace the former erroneous habit for thinking of one as a separate Individual.

Is There Suffering ??
We are very aware of the role played out by the stick or carrot motivation. Like a pendulum,suffering,alternates with pleasure and it keep time. However as we approach the fulcrum,the alternation comes to a halt. The fulcrums[appearing as separate individual awaring centres] are also known by the centre less field of awareness. The 'Heart' centre see things as empty[void of all dualities making up the relatives and the contraries]and these then melt into the seamless expanse of the field of Awareness.
Pain seem to have its location as with appearance of many entities on the screen of awareness,all and every minutest come from a single source,.
Physicists will comfortably entertain the 'Theory' on the Law of conservation of energy by which it is stipulated,energy cannot be created nor destroyed,but merely transform from one form to another and present to awareness the universe as well as its behaviour. If we trace all energy back to the very origin,before the various transformations get into the act,many call this the PRImodial Energy and like the projector light in the cinema bring every things to appear [both the sentient and the insentient] on the screen.
One parting subject to contemplate and that is who or what is it that is aware of the energy and its properties??.Energies itself are appearance that flash on the screen in tandem with the appearance of the human form as part of the transformation to the realm of matter [ E= mcc ]
Suffering does appear,but it appear to NO one as the seeming sufferer and the pain of suffering arise in tandem and we get the impression there is a sufferer experiencing the suffering It is Just as we get the impression that the characters in the movie actually speak and amidst the howling of the wind and the roar of thunder,all of them are nothing,but the same light passing over the sound track along with the 'picture'
I am the light[source as analogue with the projector's light]and the way[the capture of the event as the screen in the cinema register the unfolding of the movie].As the story is already recorded on film,all apparent interaction are all predetermined [as Thy will be done]
A passage from sutra and it states,there are suffering,but there is NO sufferer as all are illusionary.Knowing this remove the delusions that follow us for eons.

Is There CREATION ?
When confronted with the question of creation [as with all other questions] we look to our mind for an answer. If our mind THINKS that what around us including our very own bodies to be real, then there must be in place a process of creation. Our knowledge of the world is one based on this ASSumption and all thing arises from a cause seem a perfect explanation for the mind, until one try to establish the first cause.
Does all begin with a big bang and the universe come into being or a GOD-creator willed it into being.
The scripture of All religions is to seek for the first cause and in doing suggest that the data base of sight, sound, taste, smell, and sensation which comes and go is NOT real and merely Illusion appearing and disappearing on the 'Radar' space of awareness. VOID being the only REALity.
If we can certify that Awareness [knowing that IT is the superimposition of seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, feeling and knowing of thoughts upon its face] is independent and have no beginning, a CONSTANT that beckon no ending, and render the concept of cause and effect void, as the first cause have no cause and itself not a cause. It stand as the unchanging Absolute.
Creation is Imaginary and never did took place. That leave us with not the question of creation, but simply seeing a mistake in our assumption [which was taking the illusionary datas as real]. Wonder why then can there be suffering for the so called Created as All are mere mirages and dream stuff as expression of awareness. The empty UNMOVING space of awareness is alive.
Be STILL and Know I AM G*D.

Understanding.
The Truth is always present. The problem is who is to know this ? If we realized our body and mind [ five skandas ] are illusion appearing in Awareness, we can relax our concern on the welfare of the Toon character and be Awareness witnessing the dream.
The scripture points to this scenario when apprehension by No one [ Individual ] result in a deep understanding that there is nothing to be understood and Nobody exist to know this understanding. All intellectual understanding must be given up as false.
With the wisdom that all is indeed one, love and compassion is natural. If there is a sense of separation, there can arise alienation. Alienation can lead to distrust and fear and fear in turn breeds further alienation. Without the revelation of the scripture, we will continually weave the cocoon of falsehood with each rebirth. In a way, the scripture is our alarm system and once we have awaken, we can also throw out the alarm clock [ and likewise denounce the world of the objects having awakened to the dream ]
To love thy enemies is hollow, unless there is Self realization. Without the wisdom that there exist ONLY One life, flowing through everything, even loving thy neighbors is impossible.

All is unborn
Truth is non-dual and is un-born. Since we are filled with samsaric memory, we got carried away by assuming Awareness is unborn and all objects in Awareness [ samsaric ] are subject to apparent birth and death. Our mind immediately register, ' Ah! we now have the Unborn and also that with birth and death ' We conclude duality when there is None.
Being deceived by our memory, we forget that All our memory are based on Illusions and that the many births and death registered by our Awareness is in fact UNreal [as with memory of micky mouse and spiderman] and what is UNreal have to be UNborn. The birth of superman and the death of his parents are All illusionary.[ It never took place and appear as a story in Awareness, when the mortal mind strings up each appearance with that of the subsequent one ] This is without taking into account that each appearance is followed immediately by a disappearance upon the same co-ordinates, before the next appearance can appear on a BLANK slate.
The real is uncaused and so is the False. If there is indeed a [valid] cause for the False, it will NOT be called False. How then, can one slay the imaginary dragon ??Cannot be done as both the dragon and the slayer are illusions. Full stop and all remain is what is Real, the light of awareness emitting from every locations [ cannot be confine to any region or the minutest location ]

Wu Wei
Taoism that originates from China hold a simple concept of No Doer[Wu Wei]What is meant by No Doer? It is a concept based on observations on things that happens around us and within us.
Looking at nature,we find that many events happens because certain conditions favour it. Lets take rain for instance. When water vapour in the air becomes more concentrated depending on prevailing temperature and pressure,there will be a change of phase as the vapour transform into liquid water resulting in rain. We said that IT rain because of certain condition of humidity,temperature and atmospheric pressure. We can also stipulate a concept that The God of rain call for rain. In the earlier concept,there is No doer and things happen. In the latter suggestion,the doer is the God of rain.
To make the concept of doer ship holds,we must then have God of wind,God of Thunder and lightning.The God of mountains and rivers and a whole host of Gods to manage the affair of the world and the universe.
Modern science have explained the causes of most natural phenomenon and things happens because of gathering of certain conditions. When the conditions are in place, the event happens.
The concept run into problem when we regard deeds done by sentient being. The human appear to be the doers of so many things, constructing the highways, dams, high rise, rockets and space station, etc. So how do we reconcile doership and non doership. Here we apply the transcendental wisdom of Anatta to establish that human beings are illusions and are mere false appearance. As credit of human's effort is due to personal selves and we know they do not exist, then what doer are we talking about. The sutra states, all things are done, but there are NO Doer thereof. We can also say No Doer is just a corollary of NO self [Egolessness of a personal identity]
Human can be looked at as flesh robots responding to thoughts [instructions down loaded onto their CPU] As we cannot establish a creator of thoughts which are responses to stimuli and arises out of conditions and similar to that for rain and lightning.

In our world[samsara],the subject of freewill fascinates many and opinions differ. The hallmark of opinions is it will always differ as one man's meat is another person's poison.
As our mortal mind surrender, we go deep and ask the question to Truth with its Noble wisdom?
When we are trying to establish the validity of Freewill, we should take a step back and ask first of all, this freewill is for whom.?

Is there going to be a will for non-sentient beings like stone and wood or is freewill limited to only sentient being. Do we know the attributes of a particular sentient being? After the refresher on the five skandhas that make up a living being, we establish there is no such personal identity as all beings ARE ILLUSIONS. Now we rephrase the question and ask if Bugs Bunny can have a will?
Will is dependent on the individual making it and if there can be no individual, is having a will then possible? If not why argue on will being free or not.
